Consultant Neonatologist
Neonatal experience I have done neonatal medicine in 5 units – all of them are regional, tertiary, level 3 units. I have managed extremely premature neonates from 24 weeks onwards weighing about 500 gms. I am competent in all aspects of care of extremely premature neonates like resuscitation, various organ support measures and management of complications. I have experience of different respiratory support methods like use of Surfactant, nasal CPAP, and different modes of invasive mechanical ventilation.I am trained in neonatal Echocardiography and have done my Research Thesis on same topic.I have diagnosed many congenital heart diseases on my own using ECHO Machine. I am confident in providing cardiovascular support in the form of ionotropes, pressors, inodilators and prostaglandin for congenital duct-dependent lesions. I have managed babies with complex fluid and electrolyte issues in the setting of both renal competence and renal failure. I have been actively involved with ethically challenging situations like withdrawal of treatment or limitation of care on many occasions. I have received the training to manage such situations with sensitivity, empathy as well as clarity. I believe in team work and think I have the qualities to work efficiently as any member of a team that would be effective, goal-oriented as well as sensitive and supportive. I believe in safe practice and keep myself as safe as possible to my patients. Being safe to patient is better than doing some heroics and ending up in harming the patient . I have worked as assistant professor in neonatology at VilasraoDeshmukh Government Medical College & super specialty hospital Latur It is government medical college offering various post graduate degree and diploma in various subjects. Pediatric department 28 bedded NICU and 10 bedded PICU with referral unit from entire district. I have been working as assistant professor in department of neonatology since it's new establishment of neonatology department in institute as in charge of NICU over period of 1 year PUNE Presently I am working as NICU incharge of 15 bedded NICU with level 3 care provision at Medicover hospital pune . General Pediatric experience I have worked as a Paediatrics Registrar for over 5 years during my training as Post graduate trainee at 4 different institutes and hospitals, all of them with high repute. I would just like to mention that these years gave me an all-round experience and the capability to perfectly manage all the common pediatric conditions. I believe in the holistic approach to medicine and have developed the maturity to treat the child rather than the disease. I am aware of the importance of communication skills and see the role of a general Pediatrician as a supportive individual who cares for the child and the family rather than a technocratic professional. Therefore, in conclusions I have almost 9 years of experience in working in different subspecialties of pediatric care in different hospitals and teaching institutions of India beginning from 2011 till now.
